Terms of Service

These terms apply to Rippler, a monitoring service for scheduled jobs, available at rippler.io. By creating an account you agree to them.
Your account
You sign in with Google or GitHub. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to the identity provider you signed in with. Tell us at contact@rippler.io if you think someone else has got into your account.
You must be at least 16 years old, and the information you give us must be accurate.
What Rippler does
You tell us when a job is expected to run. Your job calls a URL we give you, and if that call does not arrive when it should, we send you an alert.
Rippler is a safety net, not a guarantee. Alerts depend on our servers, your servers, and the networks and email providers in between, any of which can fail. Do not use Rippler as the only safeguard for anything where a missed alert would cause serious harm — to health, safety, or data you cannot recover.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Rippler to break the law, or to infringe anyone’s rights;
- point our ping endpoints at anyone else’s systems, or use them to send traffic somebody did not ask for;
- try to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to Rippler or another customer’s data;
- resell Rippler as your own service.
We may rate-limit or suspend an account that is damaging the service for other people. We will tell you why.
Plans and payment
Indie is free and includes 10 monitors. Business costs $25 per month and includes 100 monitors. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you are.
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not refund part-months.
If we change a price we will email you first, and the change will only apply from your next renewal.
Going over your plan’s limit does not stop your monitoring. If your plan lapses or you downgrade while you hold more monitors than it allows, we keep watching all of them — you simply cannot add another until you are back under the limit.
Your data
Your monitors and their history are yours. We only use them to run the service. The Privacy Policy explains what we collect and who processes it.
Cancelling and termination
You can stop using Rippler whenever you like, and ask us to delete your account by emailing contact@rippler.io.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Except where the breach is serious or unlawful, we will give you notice and a chance to put it right first. If we discontinue Rippler entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your data.
No warranty
Rippler is provided “as is”. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not promise that every alert will arrive or arrive on time.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or revenue, or for damage caused by a job that failed and an alert you did not receive. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and email you if the change is significant. Continuing to use Rippler after that means you accept the new terms.
